FPL Triple Captain: Best Players and Fixtures Before Gameweek 19
Erling Haaland became the most Triple Captained player in FPL history in Gameweek 3, with more than 1.6 million managers activating the chip. For those who held it back, there are still several strong opportunities before the first chip reset after Gameweek 19.
Below are the best Triple Captain fixtures currently on the schedule, including standout home matchups for Haaland, Bruno Fernandes and other premium attackers.
For more on when to use the chip, see our FPL chip strategy guide.

Best Haaland Triple Captain Fixtures
GW7 vs Ipswich (H)
Haaland returned nine points against Coventry in Gameweek 3, a solid score but probably a disappointing outcome for managers who used the Triple Captain chip after his brace the previous week. On paper, there are few better fixtures to use the Triple Captain chip on than at home against a newly promoted side. Two seasons ago, when Ipswich were new to the league, Haaland scored a hat trick in the home fixture and also scored away from home. He is one of only three players in the league to have bagged three goals in a game the past three seasons.
GW16 vs Hull (H)
Three weeks ago, home against Hull City would have looked like one of the easiest fixtures to target. However, after three gameweeks, Hull have yet to concede a goal and are already on seven points. Of course, this matchup is months away, so anything could happen before then. If Hull struggle and fall apart with a more difficult schedule, it could work to the advantage of some in waiting to Triple Captain Haaland until Gameweek 16.
Bruno Fernandes Triple Captain: GW14 vs Coventry
Bruno Fernandes has already shown his ceiling with a hat trick against Ipswich, and Coventry at home in GW14 stands out as one of his best remaining fixtures until after the Gameweek 19 reset. Coventry will also be entering a congested part of the schedule, which could make the matchup even more attractive if their defensive numbers decline even more.
Other FPL Triple Captain Options Before GW19
A range of opportunities will open up as we move through the season and the teams that managers want to target each week will not necessarily always revolve around the newly promoted sides.
Chelsea Triple Captain Options: GW8 vs Tottenham
Spurs started the season conceding five goals across their opening two games but kept a clean sheet in Gameweek 3 against Nottingham Forest. Chelsea have won six Premier League games in a row against Spurs and have scored four in two of those wins. This could make the attacking prowess of Chelsea favourable for a one-off week. In their first two matches this season, they scored seven goals, which include two for Cole Palmer and two for Joao Pedro. Morgan Rogers scored the only Chelsea goal against Arsenal to also bring him to two goals.
Palmer would be the first choice if all three are fit and starting, with penalties giving him the safest ceiling.
Liverpool Triple Captain Options: GW17 vs Hull City
Again, home against Hull sounded a lot better before the season, but Gameweek 17 is still a long way away. Liverpool have been a bit inconsistent to start the season, but a 13-point haul from Alexander Isak in Gameweek 3 shows that they can still create the big scores that are worthwhile for a Triple Captain. Bradley Barcola is another factor. He came on in the second-half against Ipswich and while he didn't have a return, showed lots of potential for his future in FPL.
Final Thoughts
Haaland at home to Ipswich in GW7 remains the strongest Triple Captain opportunity on the schedule, while Bruno Fernandes against Coventry and Liverpool's GW17 home fixture against Hull are also worth monitoring. The key is not to lock the chip in months ahead; injuries, minutes, team form and fixture difficulty can change quickly.
With the first set of chips resetting after Gameweek 19, managers who still hold Triple Captain should prioritize a premium attacker at home in a high-scoring matchup rather than forcing the chip simply because the deadline is approaching.
