The international break barely started and already produced a lengthy injury list across European soccer, with Kylian Mbappe, Raphinha, Erling Haaland, Kai Havertz, Jamal Musiala, Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Brian Brobbey among the biggest names to pick up fitness concerns while away with their national teams.
Premier League clubs were particularly affected. Arsenal saw Havertz return from Germany with an injury concern while Odegaard is dealing with an ankle knock suffered against Portugal. Sunderland had issues involving both Brobbey and Daniel Ballard, while Liverpool are monitoring Gakpo and Isak after ankle and thigh problems, respectively. Manchester United also have concerns over Dorgu and Fernandes, with Chelsea, Brighton and Brentford among the other clubs to have players affected during the international window.
This article provides a full recap of the major injuries and fitness issues suffered during the international break so far, rather than a live availability tracker. Recovery timelines can change quickly once players return to their clubs, undergo scans and resume training.

Premier League International Break Injuries
Kai Havertz Injury Adds Arsenal Concern
Kai Havertz was forced off while playing for Germany against the Netherlands and returned to Arsenal for assessment of a muscle injury.
Arsenal were handed another concern when Martin Odegaard hurt his ankle during Norway's 2-1 loss to Portugal after a late challenge from Bernardo Silva in extra time. But the playmaker was back against Wales and provided one assist.
Liverpool Hit by Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak Injuries
Liverpool also picked up two significant concerns during the international break. Cody Gakpo suffered an ankle injury while representing the Netherlands against Serbia and will require further assessment before his availability becomes clearer. Any absence would remove one of Liverpool's most versatile attacking options, with Gakpo capable of operating across several positions in the front line.
Alexander Isak, meanwhile, withdrew from Sweden's camp after suffering a minor thigh injury against Romania. The issue is currently considered minor, but Liverpool will still need to assess the striker when he returns to club training.
Manchester City Monitoring Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo and Nico O'Reilly
Manchester City also return from the international break with several fitness concerns. Erling Haaland appeared to signal discomfort in the back of his leg before asking to be substituted in the 67th minute of Norway's Nations League match against Portugal, raising concern over a possible hamstring issue. The striker is expected to undergo further assessment with City, and any absence would obviously have major implications given his role as the focal point of the attack.
Antoine Semenyo had already withdrawn from Ghana duty because of an ankle injury and will also need to be assessed before Manchester City's next match. The international break gives him additional recovery time, but with Haaland now carrying his own concern, City could suddenly be short of attacking options if either issue proves more significant than initially hoped.
Nico O'Reilly has also returned to Manchester after withdrawing from the England squad with an undisclosed problem. He had already missed England's match against Czechia and will undergo further assessment at club level. O'Reilly was a substitute in City's final two matches before the break, so his potential absence is less likely to alter the expected starting XI, but his status adds another name to City's growing international-break injury list.
Manchester United Monitoring Patrick Dorgu
Manchester United also faces one new fitness concern. Patrick Dorgu was forced off injured during Denmark's match against Wales with a hamstring problem. The severity remains unclear, making his condition one to monitor as he now returns to Manchester to undergo further assessment.
Bruno Fernandes' situation is different. The midfielder had been playing through pain in recent Premier League matches and was unable to feature for Portugal against Norway. The playmaker returned since then and played 89 minutes against Denmark and Norway, providing two assists against the Danes.
Brian Brobbey and Daniel Ballard Give Sunderland Two Concerns
Brian Brobbey suffered a hamstring problem while playing for the Netherlands against Germany and returned to Sunderland for assessment. The striker entered the break in strong form, making his availability a concern for Sunderland's attack.
Daniel Ballard also picked up a hamstring issue while representing Northern Ireland against Georgia. Sunderland now have an injury to assess at both ends of the pitch before their next Premier League match.
Chelsea Monitoring Jamie Gittens
Jamie Gittens left England U21 duty with an ankle injury and returned to Chelsea, while Mike Penders dealt with a minor quadriceps issue during Belgium duty but was back on the bench in the last game. Gittens' availability could affect the club's attacking rotation after the break.
Dango Ouattara Misses A Second Game
Dango Ouattara missed all Burkina Faso's matches so far through illness. That is a different concern from the injuries elsewhere on this list, though Brentford will still need to assess him when he returns.
Biggest International Break Injuries Outside the Premier League
Kylian Mbappe left the France squad after injuring his knee against Turkiye. The extent of the injury and its effect on his availability for Real Madrid have been confirmed and he should miss around two to three weeks due to the issue.
Raphinha scored from the spot in the 4-2 win over Australia before being forced off at halftime after suffering from a thigh edema. The Blaugranas' captain returned to Barcelona before the end of the break to recover.
Jamal Musiala suffered a torn muscle fibre in his right thigh during the warmup before Germany's match against the Netherlands and returned to Bayern Munich.
