Sascha Riether

Riether signed with Freiburg on Thursday, two years after he left the Bundesliga to join English Premier League side Fulham, Bundesliga.com reports.

Riether returned from an illness to start and play all 90 minutes of Saturday's 2-2 draw with Hull City.

Riether was unable to play Saturday against Tottenham due to an illness, the club's official web site reports. "Sascha had a headache and a throat problem and it will be good next week again," manager Felix Magath said after the match.

Riether has been suspended for the next three matches by the FA. He will miss upcoming matches against Liverpool, Swansea City, and West Ham United. Riether will be eligible to return December 4 when Fulham host Tottenham.

Riether has been charged by the FA for violent conduct for stomping on Manchester United player, Adnan Januzaj, reports London 24. Riether is the first player to be charged under the new FA rule that allows a panel of three to review incidents during a game that may have been missed by the officiating crew and determine if action should be taken. Riether has until 6 P.M. Tuesday to respond to the charge.
