Zekri is unavailable for Sporting's Champions League opener against Galatasaray after being kept out of the final training session for individual work, coach Rui Borges said, per A Bola. "He missed training because of individual work we're doing with him. He's fine, but we're doing individual work with him because of that injury. He'll need to be patient, to be at 200 percent and not 100 percent,".

ANALYSIS
Zekri's absence is expected to continue until he completes the individual conditioning program put in place after arriving at Sporting with a minor injury from Mechelen. Rui Borges has made clear that the left-back is not being held out because of his place in the pecking order, identifying him as Sporting's preferred target among six players assessed for the position. The priority is therefore to build him up physically before integrating him into full team work and selection, with Maxi Araujo continuing at left-back.
