Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

This article is part of our Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer series.

Conventional wisdom has led us to believe that players in home fixtures are typically more inviting targets for fantasy purposes. While this is true to an extent, sometimes overall slate of matchups dictates otherwise. Gameweek 6 of the Premier League season is one of those weeks, as several big clubs who have been in great form will hit the road to take on lesser sides who have struggled in the early going.

GOALKEEPER

Hugo Lloris, TOT at MID (£6.9m): Lloris has allowed just one goal in league play this season, including back-to-back shutouts, and he will draw a road matchup versus Middlesbrough, who have managed just two goals in their last three matches and have not won since the second week of the season. Lloris is one of the cheaper options available Saturday and has a strong opportunity to return value as a road favorite.

Claudio Bravo, MCI at SWA (£8.2m): Bravo is one of the more expensive options available this weekend, but he has only allowed one goal in three appearances for Manchester City and will square off with a Swansea attack that is tied for 15th in scoring through five matches.

DEFENDER

Dejan Lovren, LIV v. HUL (£7.1m): Lovren scored a goal on two shots and won four tackles in a 13.01-point performance versus Chelsea last weekend. His price has fallen after a slew of tough matchups to open the season, and he should prove to be a good value this weekend as he makes his 2016/17 Anfield debut in a match that the Reds are heavily-favored to win versus Hull City.

Seamus Coleman, EVE at BOU (£8.0m): Coleman has shown no signs of the injury that kept him out of the early portion of the season, as he has averaged 10.8 fantasy points per game in two league matches after finding the net versus Middlesbrough last week. Bournemouth are among the lowest-scoring teams in the league this season and have proven susceptible to attacking fullbacks, making Coleman a prime candidate to produce at both ends of the pitch this weekend.

Danny Rose, TOT at MID (£9.7m): Rose is expected to return from his injury for Saturday's match versus Middlesbrough, and he will look to build on his impressive average of 9.8 fantasy points per game. The Middlesbrough attack has managed just two goals in the last three matches, affording defensive upside for the fullback, and his added attacking threat could be useful to Spurs as they look to cope with the loss of Harry Kane.

MIDFIELDER

Nacer Chadli, WBA at STK (£7.2m): Chadli broke through in his second appearance for West Brom last weekend with two goals and two assists in a dynamic attacking performance to help them secure three points versus West Ham. Riding high after his Man of the Match performance, Chadli will draw another favorable matchup versus the Potters' porous defense, which has futilely surrendered a league-high 14 goals through just five matches this season.

Hueng-Min Son, TOT at MID(£9.7m): Son has exploded onto the scene with 39.6 fantasy points in his first two matches of the season, including two goals and an assist in last week versus Stoke. Son appears to have carved out a significant role for Spurs after the strong back-to-back performances, and he will likely be called upon to shoulder more of the load with Harry Kane expected to miss a significant amount of time with an injury. Middlesbrough have allowed five goals in their last two matches and should present Son with a good opportunity to continue his recent success.

Philippe Coutinho, LIV at HUL (£11.8m): Coutinho has been the ringleader for the third-ranked Liverpool attack this season, and he now has three goals and an assist after Tuesday's strike versus Derby in the EFL Cup. The majority of Coutinho's production came at Anfield last season, and he should be primed for a big performance Saturday as he makes his first home start of the season versus a Hull side fresh off a 4-1 thumping at the hands of Arsenal.

FORWARD

Salomon Rondon, WBA at STK (£7.2m): Rondon scored a goal and added an assist in last weekend's victory over West Ham, and he should have plenty of opportunities to build on that performance versus a Stoke side that have allowed a staggering 13 goals in their last four matches.

Raheem Sterling, MCI at SWA (£8.7m): Sterling is in exceptional form, as he now has three goals and five assists in his last six matches after scoring and setting up Kelechi Iheanacho last week versus Bournemouth. He has been a key cog in the prolific Citizens' attack and should have even more room to operate this weekend as Sergio Aguero makes his return to Premier League play after serving a suspension.

Romelu Lukaku, EVE at BOU (£10.3m): Lukaku has been excellent over his last two league matches, as he followed up a hat-trick in Gameweek 3 with another goal and an assist versus Middlesbrough. Lukaku has rattled off 10 shots in his last two games and should have every opportunity to continue his fine form versus a Bournemouth side with a minus-6 goal differential.
