Navone is coming off the biggest win of his career, having outlasted Novak Djokovic in a grueling battle that went nearly four hours through four sets and ultimately took 4:30 to complete. The 25-year-old Argentine has had his best results on clay, but he backed up his serve like a hard-court specialist against the consensus best returner of all time, holding 21 of 25 service games. Navone's confidence on this surface is at an all-time high, and he beat Berrettini in the lead-up to the US Open, notching a 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-3 win on the hard courts of the Canadian Open less than a month ago.
Hubert Hurkacz (+190) vs. Ben Shelton
Shelton does a great job taking care of his serve, but he can struggle as a returner, so generating break chances won't be easy against the big-serving Hurkacz. The ninth-ranked American lefty will also have less of an advantage than usual directing forehands to his opponent's backhand, as the backhand is Hurkacz's superior wing off the ground. This will be the first meeting between these two, and while Shelton is rightfully favored given his excellent 20-6 hard-court record this year, the 47th-ranked Hurkacz is a former top-10 player himself with no shortage of big wins under his belt. Hurkacz comes in riding a five-match winning streak, as he won a Challenger event in Cancun leading up to the US Open prior to knocking off Damir Dzumhur in the first round.

US Open Tennis Odds: Lock It In
Jiri Lehecka (-291) vs. Toby Samuel
Lehecka reached the quarterfinals here last year and made a hard-court Masters 1000 final earlier this year at the Miami Open. The 18th-seeded Czech is 15-9 on hard courts this year and has a .588 career win rate on this surface. Samuel won his first-round match easily against Tomas Machac, who is working his way back from an injury and hasn't won a match since the French Open in May, but the 23-year-old Brit had won only two ATP Tour matches in his career prior to that victory, both on grass in his home country. Samuel has yet to crack the top 100 in the rankings in his career.
Stefanos Tsitsipas (-253) vs. Lloyd Harris
Tsitsipas improved to 10-4 in his last 14 matches with his first-round win over 10th-seeded Arthur Fils. The former world No. 3 has been rolling under new coach Thomas Perrin, and Tsitsipas is unlikely to slow down against the 139th-ranked Harris, who hadn't played an ATP Tour-level match in 2026 prior to beating 394th-ranked American teenager Jack Kennedy in the first round. Harris got as high as No. 31 in the rankings back in 2021, but injuries have sapped some of the big-serving South African's abilities.

Emma Navarro (-126) vs. Caty McNally
Navarro hasn't quite found her top-10 form from 2024, but the 25-year-old American has righted the ship in the past few months after an awful start to 2026. She's back in the top 30 and is looking to add to her success at the US Open, where Navarro has an 8-2 record in her last 10 matches. Her 65th-ranked compatriot McNally has found more success in doubles than singles, topping out at 50th in the singles rankings so far in her career. Navarro's superior court coverage and consistency are likely to make the difference in this fifth matchup between these two Americans. They have split the previous four meetings, though Navarro leads their hard-court head-to-head 2-1, with McNally's lone win on this surface coming back in 2020.
Daniel Merida (+115) vs. Andrey Rublev
Merida has flown under the radar relative to other members of the next-gen Spanish wave led by Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Jodar, but the 21-year-old Madrid native is starting to close the ranking gap with his higher-profile compatriots, as Merida has propelled himself into the top 40 with a 19-9 record in 2026. That mark includes a 6-2 run across the pair of hard-court ATP 1000 events in Montreal and Cincinnati during August, where Merida notched three top-50 wins while losing to top-20 Americans Learner Tien and Taylor Fritz. The slumping Rublev has dropped out of the top 20 while going just 3-3 in his last six matches, all against players ranked outside the top 45. Rublev needed a fifth-set tiebreak to get through 109th-ranked lucky loser Otto Virtanen in the first round.
