Achonwa missed the entire 2023 campaign after giving birth and will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. After a career-high campaign with Indiana in 2018, Achonwa has seen her production drop dramatically. That may be attributed to injuries, as she's missed double-digit games in four straight campaigns. When given an expanded role, Achonwa can make an impact due to her rebounding prowess and shooting inefficiency, both from the field and free-throw line. Achonwa missed the entire 2023 season while away from Lynx on maternity leave.
ANALYSIS
Achonwa wasn't expected to appear in the 2023 season after giving birth, and she didn't end up taking the court for the Lynx over the summer. Achonwa, who enters the offseason as a free agent, could return to Minnesota on a reduced contract next year to assist in the Lynx post depth, or she could look to join a new team if she ultimately returns to the WNBA at the soon-to-be age of 31.

Achonwa has served as frontcourt depth for the Lynx over the last two seasons, and she averaged 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game. Although Sylvia Fowles retired following the 2022 season, Napheesa Collier should be back in the fold after missing most of last year. Achonwa had some fantasy potential earlier in her career but will likely operate in a familiar bench role for the Lynx in 2023, though she also announced her pregnancy in October, so it remains to be seen if or when she will play in 2023.
Achonwa missed 11 games in 2021 due to a knee injury, and she could not carve out regular playing time when healthy. She converted a career-low 42.6 percent of her field-goal attempts and averaged just 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per game. Achonwa could see a more consistent role in Minnesota's frontcourt in 2022 with Napheesa Collier in line to miss time due to her pregnancy, but her path to fantasy relevance may still be blocked with Damiris Dantas, Jessica Shepard, Bridget Carleton and Rennia Davis, among others, all vying for playing time.
