Kansas City Chiefs RB Roles
Team: Kansas City Chiefs
Last Update:   5/22/2024
RB Overview
Role Security: Very High
05/22/24 Isiah Pacheco is the lead back, and he could see work on third downs and in the red zone. Clyde Edwards-Helaire should see work as the primary change-of-pace RB. Beyond that, the Chiefs lack a quality backup RB. Keaontay Ingram and others will compete for rotational snaps.
WR Overview
05/22/24 Rashee Rice turned into the team's top receiver down the stretch as a rookie. There is a good chance he continues that role. Rice has the ability to line up outside and in the slot. However, reports have surfaced that Rice may be suspended due to legal issues from the offseason. No. 2 WR Marquise Brown has been a lead receiver at times in Baltimore and Arizona. It's likely that Brown is a full-time player. In addition, it's possible that he ends up leading the team in receptions. The Chiefs drafted Xavier Worthy in the first round of the draft. At 165 pounds, the rookie may be used as a primary deep threat. However, it's possible that Worthy tops out as the fourth option in the passing attack (the top-two receivers and Travis Kelce). Justin Watson could play a significant number of snaps. However, Watson is often used as a blocker, so his target totals are often low. Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore will compete for depth roles.
TE Overview
05/22/24 Travis Kelce will likely continue to be the Chiefs' top receiver. No. 2 TE Noah Gray will often see a couple targets per game. Fourth-round rookie Jared Wiley will likely provide depth.
