Goodrow played in eight games during the postseason following his ankle problem, managing just one assist, four shots and 16 hits while averaging 14:17 of ice time. Looking ahead to next season, the Toronto native should continue to fill a bottom-six role where he should be capable of repeating as a 30-point producer.

The general consensus was that the Rangers overpaid in terms of both years (six) and salary ($21.85 million) to add Goodrow in free agency in July 2021, and that may have been the case, but he unquestionably made them a better team a season ago. Goodrow finished with a career-high 13 goals and 33 points while playing up and down the lineup. He did miss the better part of a month in the postseason after injuring his foot in Game 1 of New York's first round series with Pittsburgh before returning late in their second-round series against Carolina. There simply isn't enough here to make Goodrow a fantasy option in most formats, but he remains an underrated real-life player.
