Mitchell Parker

Mitchell Parker

24-Year-Old PitcherSP
Washington Nationals
2024 Fantasy Outlook
A 24-year-old lefty, Parker has been a notable prospect in a shallow Nationals farm system for a couple years, but poor control and middling stuff limited his realistic upside. Parker primarily operates with a 92-mph four-seamer with solid movement and an 80-mph curveball while also mixing in a mid-80s splitter. He walked between 11.1 and 15.4 percent of batters from 2022 through 2023 while pitching in the mid-to-upper minors, and he doesn't have the pure stuff to have success with that many free passes, but only issued one walk in his first two starts of 2024, with one of those coming against the Dodgers' big-league lineup. Assuming Parker spends a good chunk of 2024 in the big-league rotation, he could be a deep-league streamer in good matchups, but there's not much data to suggest he can maintain the success he's had early in the season. Wild in loss
PWashington Nationals
June 1, 2024
Parker (4-3) took the loss to the Guardians on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings.
ANALYSIS
Parker loaded the bases and allowed a two-run single to Kyle Manzardo in the first inning and surrendered another run in the third when Jose Ramirez scored on a wild pitch. Parker's four walks were a season high, but he was still able to pitch into the sixth and has not allowed more than three runs in any of his nine starts this season. Parker will take a 3.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 43:12 K:BB into a home matchup against Atlanta next week.
