Mavs Maul T'Wolves to Advance to NBA Finals, 124-103
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the host Minnesota Timberwolves, 124-103, in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals at Target Center on Thursday.

Dallas won this series, 4-1.

The 21-point scoreline would indicate a blowout, but the game wasn't even that close. Dallas took control with a 35-19 first quarter and carried a 69-40 lead into the half. Dallas got their lead up to 36 points at times, leading by at least 15 points for the final three quarters. The Mavericks shot 55 percent from the field and 44 percent from three-point range while holding the T'Wolves to 43 percent from the field and 31 percent from long range. Dallas also got 100 points from their starters, while Minnesota's starters had just 80 points.

The Mavericks (4-1) were led by Kyrie Irving, collecting 36 points, four rebounds and five assists. Luka Doncic tallied 36 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals. PJ Washington provided 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Daniel Gafford amassed 11 points and nine boards. Dereck Lively led the bench with nine points, eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks.

The Timberwolves (1-4) were led by Karl-Anthony Towns, totaling 28 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. Anthony Edwards had 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Rudy Gobert generated nine points and five boards. Mike Conley provided seven points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, while Kyle Anderson led the bench with seven points, three rebounds and three assists.

That's the end for the Timberwolves. The Mavericks will face the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals beginning next Thursday. Boston will be the home team in that series.
