FanDuel MLB: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel MLB: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Starting Pitcher
Ervin Santana ($6,900):

We don't need to talk about Santana's history as far as his first several starts go. He's finally on a roll and turning into the Santana that Twins fans wanted to see. The righty has five quality starts and gone at least seven innings without allowing more than two runs. His ERA sits at a 4.31, which is stellar compared to the 6.00+ ERA he was sporting at the beginning of the season. He faces the Tigers on Sunday, so expect his roll to continue.

Catcher
Derek Norris ($3,000):

When Norris is hot, there's absolutely no stopping him, and right now he's hot. He faces the Diamondbacks on Sunday and coming off a strong series against the Giants, so you can guarantee the FanDuel points.

First Base
Prince Fielder:($3,300)

The way the Rangers came through at the last minute to be the leaders in the AL West race is in big thanks to Fielder. Last week, he was dubbed one of the hottest hitters in baseball. He's in the middle of a make-or-break series against the Astros and he will be facing stud pitcher Dallas Keuchel, but the way the Astros have been playing, it wouldn't be the craziest idea to add him in your lineup. When he's up against Keuchel, he has a .318 batting average. Low owned and with sneaky upside.

Second Base
Jedd Gryoko ($2,600)

Gryoko's biggest battle this season has been staying in the majors. Now that he can camp out in the bigs, he's making himself at home. The 27 year-old not only can rack up the FanDuel points for you, but he will not break the bank standing at $2,600. He doesn't have any stats for going up against Zack Godley, but don't let that make you nervous.

Shortstop
Marcus Semien ($3,100)

Semien did not play against the Giants on Saturday, but that was simply because manager Bob Melvin gave him the day off. He is hitting .256 with 13 home runs and 42 RBI this season, and while he's never faced pitcher Chris Heston, he has been better against righties.

Third Base
Martin Prado ($3,400)

Prado has been doing great work in the batter's box, hitting .290 with nine home runs and 58 RBI. I think he makes a lot of sense as a cheap option to help you fit in some of the studs based off his recent success.

Outfield
Mookie Betts ($3,700)

Putting a stellar catch aside, you have to do get Betts in your lineup. The Boston outfielder has continuously given your lineup generous FanDuel points in this series, and when he faces Ubaldo Jimenez on Sunday, it'll continue. Betts hits on top of the order and Jimenez has really struggled of late, so it makes sense to roll Betts out there.

Ben Zobrist ($3,300)
Zobrist goes up against Danny Salazar on Sunday and Zobrist has held his own against righty. He has hit very well from the left side of the plate since being traded and should be on base a few times with the chance to score some runs.

Christian Yelich: ($3,600)
I love that Yelich is finally healthy, and he's for the most part cheap. The Marlins outfielder came just shy of the cycle, which means his bat is doing work. He faces Shelby Miller on Sunday, and against the righty he's accumulated a .278 batting average with five hits and two RBIs.
