Woods next scheduled event is the 11th Annual Chevron World Challenge, December 2-6, 2009 where he is the host. The Sherwood Country Club, Thousand Oaks, CA is the venue. At the time of this writing the field of 18 includes nine majors winners of which three are 2009 majors winners. The event will earn Official World Golf Ranking points for the first time.
Lee Westwood (Europe)
England's Westwood, nine-under, has a two-stroke lead after 36 holes of the European Tour's World Golf Championship being played in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Six players are tied for second at seven-under.
Robert Allenby (PGA)
Australian Appleby shot a seven-under 65 to establish a first round lead by one shot over Camilo Villegas (Colombia), Lee Westwood (England) and Chris Wood (England) at the European Tour World Golf Championship being played at Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Justin Rose (PGA)
England's Rose, fresh from a strong finish last week on the PGA Tour, is in the field of the Eurpean Tour World Golf Championship, Dubai, UAE with many other international players frequently seen on the PGA Tour.
Rory McIlroy (Europe)
20-year old McIlroy(N. Ireland) is considered the favorite at this week's European Tour Race-to-Dubai World Golf Championship being played in Dubai, United Arabic Emirates. McIlroy is one of four players in contention for the prize of $1.5 million from the $7.5 million bonus pool. The field is limited to the top-60 players on the Race-to-Dubai (Euro Tour money list). This is a no-cut event.
