FanDuel MLB: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel MLB: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitcher

Rich Hill, LAD vs SD ($9,300) – Hill dominated the Padres the last time he faced them, striking out 11 in seven scoreless innings. San Diego enters with the lowest wOBA and fifth-highest K% against lefties this season.

Catcher

Martin Maldonado, LAA at SEA ($2,000) – Maldonado has shown the ability to hit righties this season and he's facing a very vulnerable righty in Marco Gonzales. Gonzales enters with a 12.27 ERA.

First Base

Anthony Rizzo, CHC at AZ ($4,100) – Rizzo enters with a .364 wOBA against righties this season and he'll face righty Taijuan Walker on Friday. He's almost an automatic pick given the lack of other solid options.

Second Base

Robinson Cano, SEA vs LAA ($3,700) – Nolasco enters with a 5.09 ERA and although he's pitched well in spots (like his previous outing against the Mariners), he's been hit hard more often than not this season. Cano enters with a .361 wOBA against righties, which is second on the Mariners.

Shortstop

Corey Seager, LAD vs SD ($3,700) – Seager enters with a .423 wOBA against lefties this season, which is second on the Dodgers and top-30 in the majors. Clayton Richard takes the hill for the Padres, and although he pitched well in his most recent start against the Pirates, he's struggled for the most part over the past month.

Third Base

Travis Shaw, MIL vs CIN ($3,300)Homer Bailey has been awful this season and gave up 10 runs to the Cardinals in his last start. It's safe to say that he's just not very good right now and all teams should be able to hit him. With that in mind, I'm targeting the best lefty in the Brewers lineup in Shaw, who enters with a .401 wOBA against righties this season.

Outfield

Michael Conforto, NYM at PHI ($3,900) – With Jay Bruce now on the Indians, the clear-cut choice against righties in the Mets lineup is Conforto. Conforto enters with a .420 wOBA against righties this season, which is top-10 in the majors. The matchup makes this pick even sweeter, though, as Nick Pivetta has been consistently bad the entire season, entering with a 5.89 ERA.

Max Kepler, MN at DET ($3,400) – The Twins as a whole are better against lefties than righties, but when a righty as bad as Anibal Sanchez is on the mound, it's wise to target his opposition. In this case, Kepler looks like the best choice as he has the best numbers against righties on the Twins. Kepler enters with a .364 wOBA against righties this season and he's recently pulled out of a prolonged slump.

Bryce Harper, WAS vs SF ($5,000) – At Harper's current price, you really have to pick your spots and this looks like a good situation to spend up on him. Chris Stratton takes the hill for the Giants and enters with a 6.63 ERA through three starts (five total appearances). Harper enters with a .458 wOBA against righties this season, which is third best in the majors.
