Yahoo DFS Basketball: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Strange day in the NBA with both first- and second-round playoff games scheduled. Two Game 7s mean all hands will be on deck in those. The only notable injury is to Golden State's Stephen Curry, so it should be a relatively straight-forward DFS slate.

GUARD

Kemba Walker, CHA at MIA ($40) - Since struggling in Game 1, Walker is averaging more than 42 fantasy points a game, carrying the offense on his back. Walker is averaging nearly 25 shots in his last five games and has surpassed 28 shots three times. He also provides solid value in terms of assists, rebounds and steals, so he should have no problem exceeding value yet again.

Dwyane Wade, MIA vs. CHA ($32) -
When the moment is big, Wade plays his best, and there's no bigger moment than a Game 7 at home. Aside from a bad shooting game in a blowout, Wade is averaging 40 fantasy points in his last four games against the Hornets. Even with that one dud, he still has scored at least 30 fantasy points in every playoff game. He could play a season high in minutes in this game, and with everything on the line, look for Wade to play at an MVP level.

Guard to Avoid:

Monta Ellis, IND at TOR ($25) - Ellis had a good outing in the Game 6 win, but he's struggled otherwise, failing to surpass 20 fantasy points in his three previous games. Most discouraging, he hasn't taken more than 12 shots or three free-throw attempts in any playoff game this season. The offense runs through Paul George, and there's not much to go around for Ellis.

FORWARD

Paul George, IND at TOR ($46) - George has been a beast in the playoffs. His low in this series is 28 fantasy points, while his high is 66, and he's scored at least 46 fantasy points in four of six games. He is averaging nearly 40 minutes per game with 17.5 shots and 9.7 free-throw attempts per game. No player Sunday has higher upside than George, who should be leaned on heavily in a must win.

Luol Deng, MIA vs. CHA ($26) -
Deng's price finally seems to be rising after months of exceeding value, but he's still a great fantasy option. Deng has scored at least 26 fantasy points in every playoff game, making him a great bargain as his floor matches his price. He also has not played less than 30 minutes since mid-March.

Forward to Avoid:

DeMar DeRozan, TOR vs. IND ($35) - It's tough to put a finger on what's wrong with DeRozan, but he has struggled in the playoffs. DeRozan cracked 30 fantasy points only once in six playoff games and has scored 17 or fewer in three, as he's barely shooting 30 percent from the field. He also can't get to the free-throw line, averaging just five three-throw attempts a game after getting close to 10 attempts a game in the regular season. DeRozan has the ability to go off, but he simply costs too much and is playing too poorly to trust.

CENTER

Al Jefferson, CHA at MIA ($17) - The former All-Star center struggled all season, but he's finding his form in these playoffs. Jefferson averaged just shy of 32 fantasy points across his last five games and has seen a major increase in minutes. He also is averaging nearly 15 shots a game in that span. With everything on the line in Game 7, look for the Hornets to lean on their veteran even more. And at $17, Jefferson is easily one of the best values of the day.

Center to Avoid:

Mason Plumlee, POR at GS ($21) - Plumlee was a recommended play in the first round, and he exceeded expectations. But this is a new series with different circumstances. The Blazers needed huge minutes from Plumlee against the Clippers to match up with DeAndre Jordan, but that won't be the case with the Warriors. His minutes could fall with Golden State playing plenty of small ball. In four games against the Warriors this season, Plumlee averaged barely 20 fantasy points a game and never played more than 20 minutes. The style simply clashes too much with Plumlee's abilities, and while he's playing the best ball of his career, the Blazers can't afford to match him up with Draymond Green.
