FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

The NBA has six games on tap Sunday, but they are spread out over the day. There is one really early game at noon ET, another early game at 3:30 PM EST, then four more at 6 PM or after, so FanDuel is offering two main sets of games: whole day option including the all six games, and a "main" six-pack including only the four later games. Most of the games, including the biggest prizes, are for the "main" later games but here I'll address all six contests.

Guard (premium)

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL at DAL ($9900): Antetokounmpo has proven himself to be an everyday superstar, capable of being the explosive anchor on a winning squad at any time. On Sunday he faces a Mavericks team lacking the ability to really match-up with him. In the early games, Damian Lillard would be another option here.

Guard (moderate)

Avery Bradley, BOS vs DEN ($6800): Bradley has been consistenly putting up big numbers, which is why his price is consistently climbing. And the Nuggets stink on defense, particularly against perimeter players. Early-game honorable mention to Derrick Rose, coming off his excellent game in Chicago on Friday.

Guard (affordable)

Matthew Dellavedova, MIL at DAL ($4600): Dellavedova is the least expensive of a quartet of affordable guards that could fit onto a competitive line-up: J.J. Barea, Marcus Smart and Ty Lawson are others of interest. Dellavedova is coming off of a game where he had 10 points, five boards, four

Guard (affordable)

Matthew Dellavedova, MIL at DAL ($4600): Dellavedova is the least expensive of a quartet of affordable guards that could fit onto a competitive line-up: J.J. Barea, Marcus Smart and Ty Lawson are others of interest. Dellavedova is coming off of a game where he had 10 points, five boards, four assists and two steals in the third quarter then was able to sit out the fourth because it was a blowout. And the Mavericks, as mentioned above, aren't great on defense.

Forward (premium/moderate)

T.J. Warren, PHO at LAL ($6300): Warren has produced consistently across games, and is settled in as one of the leading scorers on the Suns. He is fresh off hitting the game-winning dunk in overtime in his last outing, and faces a Lakers defense that is not intimidating on Sunday night.

Forward (affordable)

Al-Farouq Aminu, POR at MEM ($4900): This is an early game, but Aminu is good value. After two poor games to start the season, Aminu has averaged 9.3 boards, 7.8 points, 3.8 combined steals/blocks and 2.0 assists per over his last four games to consistently outproduce his low price tag.

Forward (affordable)
Amir Johnson, BOS vs DEN ($4400):
Al Horford has been declared out for Sunday, which means that the opportunity is still there for either Johnson or Tyler Zeller to step up. In Horford's first absence, Johnson exploded for 23 points, six boards, three assists, three steals and two blocks in 30 minutes against the Bulls. He came back to earth in the next game, but the potential is there and the Celtics will need Johnson's size to match-up with the Nuggets' large frontline.

Center (premium)

DeMarcus Cousins, SAC at TOR ($9700): Cousins is the only truly elite center going on Sunday. He is coming off his worst outing of the year in a blowout loss to the Bucks, and should be looking for revenge against the Raptors. Prior to Saturday's clunker he was coming off consecutive games with 30+ points, seven boards and four assists.

Center (moderate)

Jusuf Nurkic, DEN at BOS ($6000): Nurkic has been consistently productive, averaging a solid double-double at 15.2 points and 10.6 boards with 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals. On Sunday he'll match up with Tyler Zeller, as the Celtics are missing Al Horford, which also works to Nurkic's favor.

Center (affordable)

Mason Plumlee, POR at MEM ($5300): Another early option, Plumlee has been money after a slow start. In his last five starts he's averaging 11.8 points, 6.2 boards, 4.6 assists and 2.6 combined steals/blocks. On Sunday he'll face Marc Gasol, who's a challenge, but Plumlee should be able to use his quickness and passing skills to his advantage.
