DFS College Basketball: Sunday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Sunday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

Sunday brings a five game slate on DraftKings, hosting their $10 Big Jam Contest with $6K up for grabs including $2K to first. FanDuel has its own four game slate, with all four games overlapping the main slate on DraftKings. The slate features three teams in the AP top-25, including No. 6 Houston on the road at Cincinnati. Let's get on to the action.

Top Players

Payton Willis, G, Minnesota ($8,900 DK, $8,100 FD)

Willis comes at a slight discount compared to the other elite options on the slate. With that being said, he has the ability to put up the most points on the slate. He hasn't had an issue with competing against the powerhouse teams, coming off a 55.8 DK point performance and a double-double against Purdue. The guard has played all 40 minutes in three of the last seven games while averaging 18.4 points over that time. In addition, he averages 4.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds. The Gophers matchup with Iowa is the highest projected total on the slate (148.5), so there will be a lot of offense for Minnesota's main scoring option.

Fabian White, F, Houston ($7,700 DK)

White can be a risky play since his scoring fluctuates a lot from game to game. However, the risk may pay off as White has provided five games this season of at least 32.3 DK points. In contrast, he's had just one game under 20 DK points over his last eight contests. He is averaging 13.1 points and 5.9 rebounds in Houston's last 10 games. The Cougars are favored and it should be close enough for White to pick up around 30 minutes on the court.

Middle Tier

Justin Minaya, F, Providence ($6,200 DK, $6,100 FD)

Minaya's salary has continued to rise as he's became a more consistent fantasy option on the Friars. The forward has played in all 40 minutes in four of the last six games, leading to at least 20.5 DK points in that stretch. Providence has the second-highest implied total (76.25) and are 6.5-points favorites. In addition to an increase in points and rebounds, Minaya has recorded at least one assist, one block and one steal in each of his last three contests.

Jamal Bey, G/F, Washington ($5,900 DK, $5,300 FD)

Bey offers a high floor for his salary. He is the second scoring option after Terrell Brown and scored in double digits in four of his last six games. He managed to post 22 DK points against Colorado recently despite only scoring three points. In the Huskies' first match against Stanford this year, Bey put up a season-high 35.3 DK points. Bey is a better value on FanDuel, but still is a good play of DraftKings.

Value Plays

Jared Bynum, G, Providence ($5,600 DK, $5,500 FD)

Despite Bynum coming off the bench, he is averaging 29 minutes over his last four games. When he is on the court, he has a 24.4 percent usage rate, the second highest on the team. he sis coming off a 30 DK point game against St. John's, providing almost 6x value in return. His ability to score in double digits in addition to being a solid passer gives him many opportunities for fantasy scoring.

Kyle Young, F, Ohio State ($4,900 DK, $5,500 FD)

Young has cooled off recently, but his salary has dropped with it. He's still averaging 20 minutes off the bench and has a friendly matchup against Maryland. He recently posted 27 DK points against Minnesota showing he's still capable proving a good fantasy value at his current salary. The forward is averaging just shy of 10 points, four rebounds and two assists in his last four games. Young isn't a good play for FanDuel.
