DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

It's the Saturday before Halloween. There is a good chance that you will be out and about, or maybe you will be watching one of the nine NHL games on Saturday's slate. Then again, you can always do both, and you can also do both of those things and play daily fantasy. That's where we come in.

GOALIE

Petr Mrazek, DET vs. BOS ($7,800): After a slow start, Mrazek, and the Red Wings, are looking good. Detroit has won six games in a row, while the Bruins have lost three in a row. Boston is also expected to have to start Malcolm Subban in net, who did not impress in his first start. The Bruins are banged up, and that gives Mrazek a great chance of getting another win.

CENTER

Alex Galchenyuk, MON vs. TOR ($6,300): The Maple Leafs are young and exciting, but they aren't good at goal prevention. They've given up 28 goals in seven games, and Frederik Anderson has a .866 save percentage this season. Galchenyuk has six points this season, and his linemates Brendan Gallagher and Max Pacioretty have seven. All three could be in for a big night.

Paul Stastny, STL vs. LAK ($5,400): The Kings are likely going to have to start Peter Budaj in net again, who spent most of last season in the AHL as a 33-year-old. Stastny has cooled a bit after a hot start, but he still has seven points in eight games. It's a great matchup for him, and this is a real nice price at which to get Stastny.

WING

Gabriel Landeskog, COL at ARI ($5,600): Landeskog is admittedly off to a slow start to the season. He only has three points, and he's only taken eight shots on goal. However, the Coyotes have given up 30 goals in seven games and Louis Dominique has a .857 save percentage this season. Call this a bet on Landeskog's talent, and also on Arizona's lack of goal prevention prowess.

Tomas Tatar, DET vs. BOS ($4,300): Tatar had a good World Cup of Hockey, but he only has two points and one goal this season. If you look beyond that though, you will see that he's taken 24 shots on net, and that he's playing more than three minutes a night on the power play. He's going to start racking up more points, and getting to go up against Subban in net definitely helps.

Charlie Coyle, MIN vs. DAL ($4,900): The Stars are really banged up, and even when they are full strength they have issues on defense and in net. Coyle, who scored 20 goals for the first time in his career last season, is building off that so far. He's got six points, with 17 shots on goal, and also he has seven blocks. The 24-year-old would naturally be in line for some improvement this season, and this matchup is a nice one.

DEFENSE

Trevor Daley, PIT at PHI ($4,000): Daley's play took off last year after Chicago traded him to Pittsburgh, and he's starting off well this year. He only has three points, but two of them have been on the power play, and he's playing more than 21:30 a night. Daley has also helped defensively, blocking 16 shots. The Flyers have given up 30 goals in eight games, so Daley should have a chance to help out on both ends of the ice.

Jeff Petry, MON vs. TOR ($4,400): While Shea Weber is clearly the big man on the Montreal blueline, Petry is having a nice season as well. He has six points (three on the power play), and he's getting plenty of playing time with the extra man. Against Toronto's porous defense, Petry could be a good value for you.
