This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.
The main slate at FanDuel kick starts at 7 p.m. EST and features the 12 evening games. Here are a handful of players to consider while assembling your lineups.
GOALIE
Frederik Andersen, TOR vs. VAN ($8,500): The Canucks have been shut out in four of their last five games and own a league-low 1.45 goals per game. Additionally, Vancouver owns a seven-game losing streak and lottery-team roster. Andersen has settled into the Toronto crease after a rough start to the season with three wins, a .954 save percentage and a 1.77 GAA over his last four starts. The only concern is Andersen could carry a hefty ownership percentage at this salary.
CENTER
Tyler Seguin, DAL vs. CHI ($8,000): With 27 shots and an average of 19:59 per night (4:51 on the power play) over his last six games, Seguin's fantasy floor is extremely high. Plus, since arriving in Dallas, he's been better than a point-per-game player with five goals and seven helpers through 10 games this year. The price isn't quite prohibitive enough considering Seguin's upside, and the Blackhawks still own the league's worst penalty kill (61.5 percent).
Connor McDavid, EDM at NYI ($7,900): There is enough value throughout the player pool to load up a high-end duo at the center position and not sink the rest of your lineup. At five-on-five, the Islanders allow the third-most scoring chances per 60 minutes (24.39) and second-most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes. McDavid owns a league-high 2.78 points per 60 minutes at five-on-five since entering the league, too.
WING
J.T. Miller, NYR at BOS ($5,200): After a breakout year in 2015-16, Miller has ascended to new heights this season. His 2.87 points per 60 minutes is ranked 39th in the league among players with at least 100 minutes, and he has registered 28 shots and 11 blocked shots. Boston is a middling matchup, but Miller should avoid the Bruins' top defensive players. He's a strong value option to provide some cap space to spend up elsewhere.
Lee Stempniak, CAR at NAS ($4,200): The veteran quietly goes about his business and has returned a solid 2.14 points per 60 minutes dating back to last season. He's also playing on the top line and has averaged 2:04 of power-play time to start the year. Nashville has allowed the fifth-most scoring chances per 60 minutes (23.03) and seventh-most goals per game (3.1) thus far.
Jesse Puljujarvi, EDM at NYI ($3,800): There are encouraging signs from the freshman lately. Puljujarvi picked up an assist in his most recent outing, and he has registered 12 shots over his past three games with an average og 2:20 of power-play time. This is a cushy salary to take a flier on the rookie, especially with the Islanders surrendering plenty of scoring opportunities, as previously noted.
DEFENSE
Kevin Shattenkirk, STL vs. CLM ($5,500): Look for a letdown showing from Columbus following its 10-0 drubbing of the Canadiens on Friday. Shattenkirk owns the fourth-highest points-per 60 minutes (1.85) among defenseman with at least 3,000 minutes the last three years, and he quarterbacks the No. 1 power-play unit. This is a soft salary given his role and proved track record.
Ryan McDonagh, NYR at BOS ($5,200): With his eight-game point streak snapped Thursday, McDonagh's ownership could be low given the monstrous player pool. However, he's the top offensive defenseman for the highest-scoring team in the league and averages 24:15 of ice time with 3:55 on the power play. His 2.12 points per 60 minutes also rank 15th in the league this season among defenseman with at least 100 minutes.
