DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Juuse Saros, NAS vs. PHI ($7,600): The Predators dominated in November with a 9-3-2 record, 3.29 goals for and just 1.93 against per game. They lost 5-4 Saturday with Pekka Rinne in net, so look for Saros to draw the start Sunday. Saros has won both his starts this year with just two goals allowed, and the Flyers aretf also traveling to Nashville on the second leg of back-to-back games. Still, Saros is best viewed as a contrarian flier.

CENTER

John Tavares, NYI vs. DET ($7,400): Detroit allowed five goals to Pittsburgh on Saturday, and the Red Wings enter Sunday's tilt on the wrong end of back-to-back road games. Tavares hasn't been as consistent a scorer over the past two years (0.87 points per game compared to his 1.03 mark from 2011-12 through 2014-15), but remains an elite talent and continues to play huge minutes (20:14 with 3:29 on the power play). He should also prove to carry some against-the-grain value with many looking to Connor McDavid ($8,100) as the go-to center among the high-priced options.

Bryan Little, WPG at CHI ($5,100): With Mark Scheifele (lower body) potentially out, Little will receive an uptick in minutes and offensive looks. Little registered two points -- one goal -- Saturday, and presents solid value against Chicago. The Blackhawks will likely be without No. 1 center Jonathan Toews, and No. 1 goalie Corey Crawford is out indefinitely. Plus, the Blackhawks allow the fifth most high-danger scoring chances per

The Blackhawks will likely be without No. 1 center Jonathan Toews, and No. 1 goalie Corey Crawford is out indefinitely. Plus, the Blackhawks allow the fifth most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (22.53).

WING

Patrick Kane, CHI vs. WPG ($7,900): This salary isn't high enough to rule out locking Kane into your lineup. Both teams will be playing their second game in consecutive nights and likely won't be starting their No. 1 goalies. Kane owns the highest points per 60 minutes (3.37) among skaters with at least 3,000 minutes over the past three years, too.

Jason Zucker, MIN at EDM ($4,400): With a 2.9 points per 60 minutes at five-on-five (10th-highest mark among skaters with at least 200 minutes this year), Zucker is a strong low-priced target against Edmonton on Sunday. The Oilers have allowed the second most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (12.63), after all.

Kevin Fiala, NAS vs. PHI ($3,800): Quietly, Fiala entered Saturday's game with a 45th-ranked 1.14 goals per 60 minutes among skaters with at least 200 minutes, and he scored twice against the Devils. As noted, Philadelphia travels to Nashville on the wrong end of a back-to-back, and the Flyers have allowed 3.12 goals per game. Fiala is an upside source of cap relief Sunday.

DEFENSE

Ryan Suter, MIN at EDM ($5,200): In a strong matchup, Suter is a high-floor option because of his hefty ice time and respectable offensive production. He's averaging 27:28 of ice per night (3:06 with the man advantage) and has posted a 14th-ranked 1.52 points per 60 minutes among defensemen with at least 500 minutes this year.

Duncan Keith, CHI vs. WPG ($5,100): Similar to Suter, Keith owns a ninth-ranked 1.56 points per 60 minutes among defenseman with at least 500 minutes this season, and Keith faces the Jets in their second road game in consecutive nights, too. Keith also logs huge minutes with an average of 26:06 per night and 3:54 on the power play. in net, so look for Saros to draw the start Sunday. Saros has won both his starts this year with just two goals allowed, and the Flyers aretf also traveling to Nashville on the second leg of back-to-back games. Still, Saros is best viewed as a contrarian flier.
