Yahoo DFS Baseball: Friday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Baseball series.

PITCHER

Trevor Bauer, CLE vs. CWS ($40): Bauer has been hit hard in his last three outings, but he should have an opportunity to rebound against the White Sox, as they are a bottom-10 team against right-handed pitching, according to wOBA. They also enter with a 33 percent fly ball rate, which should give Bauer and his ground ball profile an edge.

Jon Gray, COL at LAD ($39): Gray is worth a shot as a mid-tier gamble despite his inconsistency, as he has struck out at least eight batters in three of his last five starts. The Dodgers are a bottom-5 team when it comes to fly ball rate this season, while Gray induces a ground ball 44 percent of the time.

CATCHER

Matt Wieters BAL vs. ARI ($15): Wieters has managed to keep decent power numbers against righties despite a disappointing season, and he will comes in with a .177 ISO from the left side of the plate. It's hard to imagine that things can get much worse for Shelby Miller, who has allowed a .578 slugging percentage to left-handed hitters this year.

FIRST BASE

Mike Napoli, CLE vs. CWS ($11): Opposing starter Miguel Gonzalez has been on fire since returning from the disabled list, allowing just six earned runs in 20 innings (three starts). Napoli could be the one to douse the flames, as he has a runs above average score of 8.8 against the slider, a pitch Gonzalez throws 23 percent of the time. Napoli has notched a .253 ISO against right-handed pitching this year.

SECOND BASE

Devon Travis, TOR vs. NYY ($14):Bryan Mitchell hasn't fared particularly well against anyone in his three major league starts, resulting in a 6.00 ERA and .346 batting average against over 12 innings. Meanwhile, Travis has tallied a .318/.358/.491 slash line against righties over 289 at-bats.

THIRD BASE

Anthony Rendon, WAS at PIT ($14): Rendon lines up well against Jameson Taillon, as he carries a 43 percent fly ball rate, as well as a 3.0 runs above average score against the curveball, a pitch Taillon throws 27 percent of the time. The former top prospect has performed well against both sides of the platoon this season, but he has allowed seven homers in 46.2 innings against right-handed hitters.

SHORTSTOP

Carlos Correa, HOU vs. LAA ($13): While he looked sharp in his five scoreless innings against the Blue Jays last week, Alex Meyer still has a 17 percent walk rate and 1.7 HR/9 rate over five games (four starts). Correa has kept a reverse platoon split this season, notching a .193 ISO and a .358 wOBA against righties.

OUTFIELD

Jackie Bradley Jr., BOS at TB ($16):Chris Archer has leaned heavily on the slider this season, throwing it 40 percent of the time. This could prove to be a major advantage for Bradley, who has notched a 6.9 runs above average mark against that pitch. Bradley has also shown impressive power against righties, as evidenced by his .272 ISO over 378 at-bats.

Adam Duvall, CIN at MIL ($13): It's worth taking a shot with Duvall whenever he is facing a ground ball pitcher, as he has a 47 percent fly ball rate along with a .256 ISO. Zach Davies has allowed a 34 percent hard contact rate against righties this year.

Christian Yelich, MIA vs. ATL ($15):Matt Wisler has a 5.21 xFIP against lefties this season, while allowing a 37 percent hard contact rate. Meanwhile, Yelich has had success against his opposite hand, having tallied a .303/.389/.522 batting line with a .219 ISO against righties.

Other options: Curtis Granderson, NYM vs. PHI ($19); Hunter Pence, SF at SD ($19); Nelson Cruz, SEA at MIN ($18)
