FanDuel MLB: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel MLB: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitcher

Jacob deGrom, NYM vs PHI ($12,100) – deGrom hasn't been very consistent this season, but he enters on a streak of three consecutive games of 52 fantasy points. The Phillies enter with the lowest wOBA against righties in the majors and their K% against righties is fifth highest in baseball.

Catcher

Alex Avila, DET vs CLE ($3,100) – If you spend up for catchers, you know that there are five or six guys that are good options on any given night and among those guys, Avila has the best matchup. Avila and the Tigers will face Josh Tomlin, who enters with a 6.09 ERA. Avila is only 2-for-14 lifetime against Tomlin, but both of those hits were homers.

First Base

Paul Goldschmidt, AZ vs COL ($4,400) – Goldschmidt is one of the most reliable hitters in the majors and he's going to be on this list quite often until he slows down. Goldschmidt was actually in the midst of a tough stretch earlier this week, but he snapped out of it on Thursday when he took Lance Lynn deep. Righty Jon Gray takes the mound for the Rockies, which is good news for Goldschmidt as he's fifth in the majors with a .451 wOBA against righties this season.

Second Base

Dee Gordon, MIA at MIL ($2,900)Matt Garza takes the mound for the Brewers, which puts several Brewers in play on this slate. Garza enters with a 4.43 ERA and he's allowed four or more runs in four of his past six starts. Gordon is not having a great season, but he presents a lot of upside for the price with his stolen-base potential. Gordon has also been much better against righties this season than lefties, and 19 of his 29 stolen bases have come against righties.

Shortstop

Carlos Correa, HOU vs NYY ($4,000)Michael Pineda has allowed five or more runs in three of his past five starts and he's in about as tough a spot as any against the Astros in Houston. Correa is coming off a monster game Thursday against a right-handed starter, which isn't a surprise as he enters with a .380 wOBA against righties this season.

Third Base

Jose Ramirez, CLE at DET ($4,100)Anibal Sanchez takes the mound for the Tigers, and while he's coming off a good outing, it was against the Padres, so let's not get too excited. Sanchez still carries a 6.75 ERA, so the Indians are certainly one of the better stack options on this slate. Whenever a righty is on the hill, Ramirez is a top option as he leads the Indians with a .417 wOBA against righties this season.

Outfield

Jay Bruce, NYM vs PHI ($3,500) – Bruce mashes righties. He'll match up with righty Ben Lively, who has been decent this season, but has allowed his fair share of runs. Bruce is second on the Mets with a .398 wOBA against righties this season.

Lonnie Chisenhall, CLE at DET ($2,900) – As mentioned earlier, with Sanchez on the mound, the Indians are a top stack option and with a righty on the mound, Chisenhall is certainly in play. Chisenhall enters with a .371 wOBA against righties this season and is 9-for-26 against Sanchez in his career.

Cameron Maybin, LAA vs SEA ($3,000) – Maybin is averaging 12.4 fantasy points per game this season, but his price is still relatively depressed. As such, his value remains high, especially when he faces a righty. Maybin enters with a .342 wOBA against righties this season and 21 of his 24 stolen bases have come with a right-hander on the mound. The Angels face righty Parker Bridwell.
