The Phoenix Suns defeated the host Denver Nuggets, 104-97, at Ball Arena on Wednesday. Phoenix held the lead for all but a few seconds in this game, getting their lead up to 15 points at times in the second half. They led by at least seven points for the closing 18 minutes, despite there being seven ties in the first half. The Suns shot 47 percent from the field and 49 percent from long range while holding the Nuggets to 43 percent from the field and 25 percent from long range. They also out-rebounded Denver, 55-41, while out-assisting them, 29-24. The Suns (43-30) were led by Kevin Durant, collecting 30 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and five blocks. Devin Booker had 17 points, five rebounds and nine assists. Grayson Allen amassed 13 points, three rebounds and four assists, while Bradley Beal accrued 10 points, four rebounds and seven assists. Eric Gordon led the bench with 10 points. The Nuggets (51-22) were led by Nikola Jokic, finishing with 22 points, nine rebounds, 10 assists and two steals. Michael Porter Jr provided 18 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Aaron Gordon generated 16 points, six rebounds and two assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope compiled 13 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals. On deck for Denver is a home matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. As for Phoenix, they stay on the road to face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday as well.
