FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are 10 games Sunday, but they are spread throughout the day from 1:00 PM ET to 9:30 PM ET PM. For their "Main" contest schedule, FanDuel chose the five games starting at either 3:30 PM or 6:30 PM. The article below will focus on those five games. There is also an "Early" contest schedule for the 1 PM games, and for those interested here's some advice on those…

The five Main games have some very interesting storylines, starting with real-life and DFS MVP frontrunners Russell Westbrook and James Harden facing off. Another big DFS 1-on-1 is happening in Milwaukee, as Jimmy Butler and Giannis Antetokounmpo have been doing their Westbrook/Harden impressions with their DFS output this week. The Kings have been force-feeding the ball to Buddy Hield lately, which has helped bring him into the conversation Sunday, as well.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, MIL vs CHI ($10,600): Antetokounmpo has popped for 62.3 and 66.1 fantasy points in his last two games, scoring over 30 points with double-digit boards and five assists in both. On Sunday, he will be the lead offensive playmaker against a Bulls defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to guards in the last 10 games.

Jeff Teague, IND vs PHI ($7400): Teague has scored between 37.9 and 38.5 fantasy points in three straight games, which is very consistent production considering he's faced defenses ranging from weaker (Nuggets) to elite (Jazz) in that stretch. On Sunday, he faces an average defense in the 76ers that's allowed the 14th most fantasy points to point guards this season.

Buddy Hield, SAC at LAC ($5400): Hield has transitioned to the lead offensive option for the Kings in the last few games, averaging 20.3 points with 5.7 boards, 4.7 assists and 1.3 steals during that span. The game Sunday has blowout potential against a good Clippers team, or very competitive potential if the Clippers are tired on the second half of a B2B. Either works well for Hield, who is young and likely to get minutes whether the game is close or not.

Jimmy Butler, CHI at MIL ($10,000): This slot was between Butler and Paul George, both of whom have been playing well lately. Butler has the higher price and the tougher matchup, but he also has reached heights in two of his last three games that George hasn't. Thus, he gets the call here as the forward option with the highest expected value and upside Sunday.

Dario Saric, PHI at IND ($7600): Saric has a tough matchup Sunday against a Pacers defense that has allowed the second fewest fantasy points to power forwards in the last 10 games. On the other hand, he has played very well himself as the top option for the 76ers since the All-Star break, and he's coming off a 32-point, 10-rebound double-double against the Trail Blazers on Friday.

Skal Labissiere, SAC at LAC ($4700): Labissiere has been another beneficiary of a Kings team increasingly committed to their youth movement. In the six games since he's started getting more run, Skal has averaged 28.3 fantasy points with a min of 18.3 and a max of 46.2. And, like Buddy Hield, he's young enough to get plenty of playing time whether the game is close or not.

Al Horford, BOS vs MIA ($7000): This spot could have gone to Hassan Whiteside (questionable, ankle) if he was guaranteed to be playing. He said Saturday that he expects to, but thus far no official word has been given. Horford would have been a worthy candidate either way, though, having averaged 41.2 fantasy points with a min of 36.6 and a max of 50.6 in his last six games.

Myles Turner, IND vs PHI ($6500): Turner has one of the best matchups of the day Sunday against a 76ers defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to centers all season and the second most over the last 10 games. Turner has averaged about 28 fantasy points in his last 10 games, but he also has 40-point upside.

Clint Capela, HOU vs OKC ($5700): Capela is similar to Turner, in that he also has averaged about 29 fantasy points with 40-fantasy-point upside over his last 10 games. His matchup is slightly tougher, but Capela also has the lower price tag to even things up.
