Fontan was cleared for full contact in practice, according to USC associate head coach Bob Cantu's Twitter feed.

Fontan, a transfer from Fordham, was expected to be a main cog in the Trojan offense last year. His torn ACL caused the team to lean heavily on Maurice Jones. Fontan averaged 10.5 points and 3.9 assists as a Trojan two years ago. The senior should get plenty of shots and be a decent fantasy point guard.

Fontan shot just three-of-14 from the floor Sunday afternoon, finishing an 86-60 loss to Xavier with a total of 10 points and two rebounds. On the positive side, the freshman did have 11 assists for the game, but countered by turning the ball over six times.

Fontan is the Atlantic 10's leading freshman scorer, but didn't look like it Sunday against Xavier. The native of Paterson, New Jersey was well under his 13.9 points average for the year, but saw a career high in his 11 assists.
