Mbakwe sprained his wrist in the closing seconds of the loss to Wisconsin on Saturday. He was replaced at the free throw line by Rodney Williams after getting fouled. Williams went 1-of-2. Mbakwe finished with eight points and 10 rebounds.

Mbakwe has showed that he was back from a torn ACL in Big 10 play. He has snagged at least 10 rebounds in all seven games against familiar foes, but the Golden Gopher have dropped their last four games. Mbakwe is considered day-to-day with the wrist injury.

Mbakwe averaged a team-high 14 points and 9.1 rebounds in his injury-shortened campaign.
