Swopshire gets the chance to start after being used as a reserve at Louisville. The 6-8 senior has a good chance to put up decent numbers this season as he tries to help Northwestern make the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history.

Swopshire has decided to transfer from Louisville to Northwestern, ESPN reports.

Swopshire can utilize his final year of eligibility immediately as he plans to pursue a graduate degree not offered at Louisville. With few minutes available next season in the Cardinals' frontcourt, Swopshire has decided to join a squad that must replace John Shurna's scoring chops and add a post presence of some kind. Swopshire provides the promise of both, holding averages of 3.9 points (on 38.1 percent shooting) and 3.2 rebounds in 14.1 minutes during his three seasons with Louisville.

Swopshire ended up Louisville's top point producer in Sunday's win, this even though he played off the bench for just 24 minutes against Lamar.
