Blackshear (hip) had 19 points (7-10 FG, 4-6 3 Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and an assist in Saturday's loss to NC State.

Blackshear had originally been considered iffy for the contest due to a hip pointer, but the senior was able to start and lead the offensive charge for much of the game, knocking down four three-pointers in the effort. He's now notched a three-point basket in six of Louisville's last seven games, and his 19 points put up Saturday were the most since a 31-point outburst Dec. 23 against non-conference opponent CS Northridge.

Blackshear is dealing with a hip pointer, and coach Rick Pitino is considering sitting him Saturday against NC State, Jeff Greer of the Courier-Journal reports.

Blackshear suffered the injury Wednesday against Pittsburgh, playing just one minute in the contest. He is reportedly "not ready for contact" at this point, so he would likely need to make considerable progress overnight to play Saturday against NC State.

Blackshear put up a huge effort in Tuesday's 80-55 blowout over CS Northridge, finishing with 31 points (11-17 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 3-6 FT), six rebounds and four steals in 37 minutes.

Blackshear bounced back from his lowest scoring total of the season to put up his highest. The senior swingman is having a strong campaign for the now 11-0 Cardinals, ranking first on the team in three-pointers, second in rebounds and third in points.

Blackshear (concussion) will play Thursday against Temple, CBSSports.com reports.

A concussion, the result of being elbowed in the head during practice, kept Blackshear from last Wednesday's win over Houston. The 6-foot-5 junior has been cleared to return Thursday, however, and will look to built upon his averages of 9.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals.

Blackshear (concussion) is listed as a probable starter for Louisville’s next game at Temple, Louisville Sports Information reports.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Blackshear (concussion) will not travel with the team for Wednesday's matchup against Houston, Eric Crawford of WDRB Louisville reports.

Blackshear took an elbow to the head during practice, and although coach Rick Petino doesn't think the concussion is overly serious, Louisville will exercise caution here. Look for forwards Montrezl Harrell and Luke Hancock to see an increased workload in Blackshear's absence. The junior forward is averaging career-bests in points (9.7), rebounds (3.4) and blocks (0.6) in his 2013 campaign.
