Smith powered up 22 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Robert Morris on Saturday.

Smith is simply too big for most college opponents. He is also skilled in the post and has averaged 17.3 points through three games. If he can continue to play 26 minutes as he has in his last two games, Smith will be a quality fantasy option.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith is academically eligible and slated to play for the Hoyas this fall, CSN Washington reports. Coach John Thompson III did not know what kind of shape the 350 lb center was in.

Smith could definitely be a difference maker for Georgetown. The Hoyas were 10-3 with Smith and even teams like Kansas had a hard time guarding the immense center. If he can get into any kind of basketball shape, the former UCLA center could dominate in the post in the Big East.

Smith's coach, John Thompson III says Smith will be out for the rest of the year for academic reasons, ESPN980 DC reports.

Smith was Georgetown's starting center and third leading scorer, but has missed the last five games. Forward Michael Hopkins and center Moses Ayegba will continue to take the minutes left by Smith.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith will miss a second straight game Saturday as he tends to an academic issue, ESPN.com reports.

Details are relatively scarce, but Smith will sit against Butler after missing Wednesday's loss to Providence. The junior center is averaging 11.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 19.9 minutes so far this season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith provided a team-high 14 points and five boards in the win over Colgate on Saturday.

Smith has been playing limited minutes and that has affected his overall production. He hit 27 minutes twice (in the opener and against VCU), but has not topped 20 minutes in his last three games. The big man has averaged 13.8 points on 78.1 percent shooting from the field.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith had six points in 17 minutes in the win over Wright State on Wednesday. The center added four boards and a block.

It's funny that Smith played so well against athletic Oregon, but had such a quiet game against the Raiders from the Horizon League. The Hoyas hit 45.5 percent of their 3-pointers, so they did not have a great need to dump the ball into the post.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith made his Hoya debut with 25 points (10-13 FG, 5-9 FT) with four rebounds and two assists in the loss to Oregon in Korea on Friday.

Smith played 27 minutes and looked strong in the post. His weight is clearly within a range that will allow him to play fairly significant minutes. There are few players in the nation, and particularly the Big East, who can counter his strength in the post. His defense, on the other hand, leaves something to be desired.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Smith has been cleared to play for the Hoyas immediately, the Associated Press reports.

Smith played in six games for the Bruins last season before transferring to Georgetown, and a player in this situation typically has to sit out an entire year before becoming eligible to play for a new team. However, the NCAA granted Smith a waiver for last season, leaving him with two years of eligibility remaining. Smith has struggled with weight issues in the past, but at 6-foot-10 and 350 pounds, he has the potential to be a dominant force down low for the Hoyas.
