Bird came off the bench to score eight points and produce two rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block Wednesday as California fell to Stanford 69-59 at home.

Bird, playing for the second time since missing 10 consecutive games due to a left foot injury, came off the bench Wednesday to give the Golden Bears a lift in the first half, this after being limited to just eight minutes against UCLA three days earlier because of leg cramps.

Bird (foot) will be out at least another two weeks according to head coach Cuonzo Martin, Jeff Faraudo of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Bird has now sat out seven games after suffering a stress fracture, and after two weeks that total will grow to 12. Martin did not sound particularly certain that two weeks would be enough for Bird to heal, so it could be even longer before Bird returns. As long as Bird is out teammate Tyrone Wallace should continue to play big minutes and have plenty of chances to score, making him one of the best fantasy players in college basketball.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Bird's injury has been revealed as a stress fracture in his foot, Jeff Faraudo of the Bay Area News Group reports.

Bird has missed Cal's past six games, including their loss to Wisconsin on Monday where he was seen wearing a walking boot on the injured foot. No timetable has been released for Bird's return, but he is clearly not near a return at this time. Cal head coach Cuonzo Martin noted that he expected Bird back for conference play, but that only means he'll be back during the regular season. Stress fractures can often become lingering injuries, so Cal may bring Bird along slowly to avoid any further complications.
