Gibbs scored 12 points (2-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), to go along with two rebounds and a pair of assists during Thursday’s win over Colorado.

Gibbs comes from a long lineage of clutch performers. However, unlike his brother Ashton Gibbs who played a Pitt, Gibbs is trying to become the first person in his family to reach the final four. The graduate transfer will try to make a name for himself this March by means of the three ball. Over his last three seasons, Gibbs is shooting 41 percent from behind-the-arc. He knocked down two more threes on Thursday.

Coach Bill Self's Jayhawks once again own a top seed, but they have a tough road to the Final Four, which almost undoubtedly runs through Melo Trimble and the Maryland Terrapins.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gibbs netted 20 points (4-10 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 8-10 FT) in Connecticut's 80-54 loss at SMU on Thursday.

Gibbs managed double digits for the first time in his last three games. He only scored 14 total points in the two games coming into Thursday's game, but was able to hit four three pointers leading the way for a UConn team.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gibbs scored 14 points (4-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT) and dished out five assists Saturday against Tulsa.

This is only the second time Gibbs has scored double figures in Connecticut's last five games. However, in that stretch, Gibbs is still averaging 10.2 points per games despite only making 15 of his 46 shot attempts.

January 29, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gibbs scored a game-high 14 points Thursday as the Huskies fell to Cincinnati.

The Seton Hall transfer has now reached double-digit scoring in five of his last six contests. In that stretch, he's been terrific for Connecticut with an average of 20.4 points per game which is well above his season average.

January 23, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gibbs managed to score 16 points (3-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 9-12 FT) against Georgetown on Saturday.

Gibbs had a nice bounce-back performance Saturday after scoring only six points against Tulane on Tuesday. Prior to that he had three consecutive games where he scored 20-plus points.

January 9, 2016

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sterling Gibbs scored a season-high 26 points as UConn knocked off Memphis 81-78.

Gibbs scored over 20 points in each of the Huskies' first two games, then averaged only 10.0 points per game over the next ten as Rodney Purvis stepped into the limelight. This is a good sign, but until he strings together a few nice games Gibbs is still a score-first guard who's not scoring.

December 9, 2015

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gibbs notched 12 points (4-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), a rebound, and a steal in Tuesday's loss to sixth-ranked Maryland.

Gibbs, a senior transfer from Seton Hall, has earned the starting point guard spot for the Huskies. Although he's not putting up as big of numbers as he did during his time at Seton Hall, he does lead the team in the steals category (1.1 per game) and could possibly give a fantasy squad a consistent boost in that category.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gibbs has decided to transfer to UConn for his final season, Jeff Borzello of ESPN reports.

Gibbs initially indicated he would return to Seton Hall for his senior season, but later changed his mind. As a junior, he averaged 16.3 points, 3.8 assists and 2.1 rebounds in about 34 minutes. Considered one of the top transfers this season, he'll likely slot into a starting role for a revamped UConn squad in 2015-16.
