Stainbrook suffered a strained MCL on Monday against Seton Hall, and has been ruled out for the matchup against Villanova on Thursday, ESPN.com's Andy Katz reports.

Stainbrook will continue to be evaluated, but consider him day-to-day for the time being. The junior center is currently leading the Musketeers in rebounding and blocks with averages of 7.8 and 1.0, respectively. Stainbrook is also third on the team in scoring at 10.6 points per game, so this loss will definitely be felt by Xavier if he's forced to miss time. The recovery time for a strained MCL varies by player and injury severity, so it remains to be seen if/when he'll be available for tournament play.
