Garrett scored 26 points, including five 3-pointers, in the overtime loss to Marquette on Saturday.

Garrett, a 6-5 freshman, has had an up-and-down season, but seems to be on the upswing in the closing weeks. He represents the future of the Blue Demons and could give the team some credibility.

Garrett scored 18 points in the loss to Xavier on Monday. He went to the free throw line a career-high 14 times, but made only eight.

Garrett is usually an excellent free throw shooter and had made his last 20 attempts over three games, so his struggles at the line were likely an aberration. The freshman has averaged 18.0 points over his last four games.

Garrett Jr. scored a career-high 22 points in the double-overtime win over Butler on Thursday. He added five rebounds and five assists before fouling out.

The 6-5 freshman was coming off a scoreless game in which he missed 10 shots from the field in the loss against Creighton on Tuesday. He more than redeemed himself in the Blue Demons' first conference win of the season.
