Holt (abdominal) is currently considering his options and season-ending surgery has not been ruled out, The Providence Journal reports.

Holt did not participate in practice when the Friars began team activities several weeks ago, and was still on the sidelines for the team's "Midnight Madness" showcase Saturday evening. It appears as if the team plans for Holt to undergo additional testing, but have yet to make any final decisions. If season-ending surgery is elected, Holt would qualify for a medical redshirt and maintain another year of eligibility.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Holt is dealing with an abdominal issue and won't be available when Providence begins practice Tuesday, Kevin McNamara of the Providence Journal reports.

It's unknown when Holt will be available to play, but the current expectation is that he won't be ready when the season begins Nov. 10. Holt was a solid contributor last season, as he averaged 12.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Until Holt is back in full health, Kalif Young and Nate Watson could be in line to see an increase in usage.
