Panyangara was not selected for the ODI series against Afghanistan, ICC Cricket reports.
ANALYSIS
The 31-year-old hasn't played a competitive match since bowling in the first match of the Tri-Nation Series against Sri Lanka in November. With 65 ODI caps under his belt, Zimbabwe chose to field a more inexperienced side as they look to get some of the younger players some run against Afghanistan, an associate cricket nation, as Panyangara was one of seven players left off the squad who participated in the Tri-Nation Series.
