It's a light three-game slate in the NHL on Sunday. The Ducks and Islanders are both playing their second game in consecutive nights, and Vancouver also is on the wrong end of back-to-back games while hosting the rested Hurricanes. Buffalo also visits Edmonton.
Here are some value plays and low-priced fliers to consider while filling out your lineup:
GOALIE
Jacob Markstrom, VAN vs. CAR ($7,800): With Ryan Miller drawing the start Saturday, Markstrom should protect the net Sunday. The 26-year-old Markstrom is a late bloomer with the talent and size to steal a game, and had his best season in the league with a .915 save percentage last season. Admittedly, this is a high-risk, high-reward flier.
CENTER
Connor McDavid, EDM vs. BUF ($8,200): With such a shallow player pool, and the likelihood that McDavid will carry a contest-high ownership, you're fading him at your own risk. He's posted consecutive three-point nights in more difficult matchups than the Sabres to start the season, after all.
Victor Rask, CAR at VAN ($4,700): Playing in a small market has concealed the ascent of Rask. He's coming off a solid 21-goal, 48-point season and scored on Opening Night. His salary is reasonable, and he centers the top line and plays on the No. 1 power-play unit. Expect his ownership to be low with many flocking to high-priced centers.
WINGER
Ryan Strome, NYI vs. ANA ($4,400): The talented 23-year-old winger scored his first goal of the season Saturday, and he has

WINGER
Ryan Strome, NYI vs. ANA ($4,400): The talented 23-year-old winger scored his first goal of the season Saturday, and he has four shots on net through two games. Strome is also playing on the No. 1 power-play unit with an average of 2:12 of PP time per game to start the season.
Nick Ritchie, ANA at NYI ($3,600): Playing on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, the 20-year-old winger fired four shots on goal in the season opener and then received 21:14 of ice on Saturday. The point production will follow given his usage with talented players, and the salary opens up spending room in your lineup.
Teuvo Teravainen and Sebastian Aho, CAR at VAN ($3,600 and $3,500): Here's a low-priced combo with upside to consider if you don't utilize Jacob Markstrom in goal. The pair of Finns should face favorable matchups throughout the night against a very shallow Vancouver lineup. The duo should also have low ownership.
DEFENSE
Nick Leddy, NYI vs. ANA ($4,700): The power-play quarterback is a high-floor option at a decent salary Sunday. Leddy has an assist, three shots on net and seven blocked shots through the first two games of the season. He's also averaging a healthy 22:36 of ice time to start the campaign, including 2:06 with the man advantage.
Andrej Sekera, EDM vs. BUF ($4,200): The veteran is tending the blue line for the No. 1 power-play unit and offers a nice all-around fantasy profile. Last season, Sekera registered 155 shots and 156 blocked shots, which presents a nice fantasy floor for his offensive returns to build on. Buffalo is an A+ matchup, too.
