FanDuel NHL: Thursday Values

There are nine games in the NHL on Thursday. Here are a handful of players to consider across multiple price points while assembling your FanDuel lineups.

GOALIE

John Gibson, ANA at COL ($8,800): A winner in four of his last five starts, Gibson has also posted a rock-solid .959 save percentage and 1.38 GAA during that span. He faces the last-place Avalanche on Thursday, and Colorado is averaging the fewest goals per game in the league (2.03) thanks to generating the fewest high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (8.69).

CENTER

Connor McDavid, EDM vs. NJD ($8,700): The Devils are allowing 3.0 goals per away game and surrender the fifth-most scoring chances per 60 minutes (30.82) on the road. It's a good matchup for McDavid to kick-start a hot stretch, as the star pivot has "just" 14 points -- three goals -- through his past 18 games. There's a chance his ownership is down based on his modest recent production, too.

Rickard Rakell, ANA at COL ($5,800): With just two goals on 19 shots through his past 11 games, Rakell is in need of a slump-busting matchup, so a date with Colorado is just in time. Even with his recent struggles, Rakell has an impressive 1.72 goals per 60 minutes. Additionally, the Avalanche have allowed the most goals (3.45) and the fourth-most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (11.51) through their past 25 games

WING

Charlie Coyle, MIN vs. MON ($6,100): Look for Coyle to be slightly under owned Thursday with a perceived daunting matchup against Carey Price and the Canadiens. However, Montreal enters on the wrong end of back-to-back road games, and Coyle boasts a solid 2.80 points per 60 minutes this season with 14 points through his past 12 games.

Patrick Maroon, EDM vs. NJD ($6,000): Producing at a high level lately with eight goals, nine points and 31 shots over his past 10 games, Maroon is back to cashing in alongside Connor McDavid. That duo has posted 4.0 goals per 60 minutes with a 60.6 Corsi For percentage at five-on-five this season, and as noted, the Devils check out as cushy matchup.

Anthony Mantha, DET at DAL ($5,700): With 12 points -- seven goals -- through his past 10 games and a solid matchup, Mantha's salary stands out as a potential discount. Dallas allows the first-most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (11.57), and Mantha's 1.49 goals per 60 minutes represent the 16th-highest mark among all skaters with at least 400 minutes this season.

DEFENSE

John Klingberg, DAL vs. DET ($5,800): Detroit has gone 2-2-2 through the first six outings of its current seven-game road trip and could be in store for another letdown in the final game. Klingberg owns a fourth-ranked 1.76 points per 60 minutes among all defensemen with at least 4,000 minutes since entering the league, and he's played well of late with three goals, eight points, 23 shots and 11 blocked shots through his past 10 games. His usage has remained heavy – the 24-year-old has averaged a hefty 23:41 of ice with 2:54 on the power-play during that 10-game stretch.

Shea Theodore, ANA at COL ($3,600): While his AHL production (10 points through 11 games this season) hasn't fully translated at the highest level yet, Theodore will receive another chance following Wednesday's promotion. The 21-year-old defenseman has significant offensive upside, so with this price and a great matchup, he's a flier worth considering.
