DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

There are nine scheduled NHL games Tuesday, so there are plenty of options to differentiate your tournament selections. With that in mind, here are a number of recommendations across multiple price ranges to considering while assembling DraftKings lineups.

GOALIE

Frederik Andersen, TOR at FLA ($7,300): Despite notching a win in just three of his past seven starts, Andersen has posted a .941 save percentage and 1.94 GAA during that stretch, which also includes allowing two goals or fewer in six of those outings. The Panthers have lost eight of their past nine games and scored just 19 goals during that span, so with Andersen's salary presenting significant value, he checks out as a nice option.

CENTER

Connor McDavid, EDM vs. DAL ($8,000): Not that there is much incentive needed to load up McDavid, but Dallas checks out as a great matchup. The Stars allow the second most goals per game (3.24), the third most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (11.92) and own the worst team save percentage (.894) in the league. McDavid has also totalled 32 points and 91 shots while averaging 21:26 of ice time through his past 29 games. Both his ceiling and floor are high.

Mark Scheifele, WPG at NJD ($6,300): The Devils have lost 10 consecutive games and allowed 33 goals during that stretch. Scheifele owns a fourth-ranked 3.05 points per 60 minutes among all skaters with at least 1,250 minutes this season, and he has 15 points through his past 11 games. This salary doesn't align with his elite offensive numbers and cushy matchup.

WING

Leon Draisaitl, EDM vs. DAL ($5,900): The 21-year-old forward has continued to provide solid offensive numbers with three goals and nine points through his past 12 games and, as noted, this is a great matchup. Draisaitl has also combined with Connor McDavid for a solid 2.96 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five, and the duo has combined for 41 power-play points. Draisaitl is an excellent stack option with McDavid.

Tyler Toffoli, LOS vs. ARI ($5,000): In need of a soft matchup to kick his current slump (two assists and just eight shots through his past six games), Toffoli has his opening against Arizona on Tuesday. The Coyotes have allowed the most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (13.17) and third most goals per game (3.22) in the league. Additionally, Toffoli's 1.18 goals per 60 minutes over the past three years rank 23rd among all skaters with 3,000 minutes.

Josh Ho-Sang, NYI at CAR ($3,000): With a career-high in minutes (19:55 with 3:36 on the power play) last time out, Ho-Sang's a strong low-priced flier Tuesday. He's been held to a goal, an assist and just five shots through six games, but there is no denying his offensive upside, and the Hurricanes own a league-worst .907 save percentage at five-on-five. Ho-Sang also saw a few extra looks with John Tavares on Saturday.

DEFENSE

Oscar Klefbom, EDM vs DAL ($5,200): Despite quarterbacking the No. 1 power-play unit and averaging 23:10 of ice time (2:38 with the man advantage), Klefbom has been held off the scoresheet in five consecutive games. This is the perfect bounce-back spot. The defensive deficiencies of the Stars have already been highlighted, and Kelfbom's salary makes him a potential stack option alongside either or both of McDavid and Draisaitl.

Alec Martinez, LOS vs. ARI ($4,500): Scorching hot with a goal, six points, eight shots and eight blocked shots through his past four games while averaging 3:00 of power-play time, Martinez's salary hasn't caught up to his recent production. Considering the previously outlined matchup against the Coyotes, Martinez's a solid value play Tuesday.
