Struggles with reach at UFC 227
StrawweightOther
August 4, 2018
Taylor lost to Weili Zhang via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 227 on Saturday in Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Taylor does not have very long arms, and it consistently hurts her in terms of striking. Zhang was able to land from the outside, while Taylor could not land. Taylor has now lost back-to-back fights in the UFC, but she will likely keep her spot in the UFC considering she owns wins over Seo Hee Ham and Jessica Penne.

Struggles with JJ Aldrich's reach and drops decision
StrawweightOther
January 14, 2018
Taylor lost to JJ Aldrich via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in St. Louis.
ANALYSIS
Taylor really struggles to score in standing fights. She throws a lot of strikes, but due to her lack of reach she misses most of them. In this fight, Aldrich was able to land shots from the outside. Taylor threw enough strikes to win, but she could not close the distance and land. Taylor came into this fight with back-to-back wins over quality fighters, but this loss halted her momentum.
Outworks Jessica Penne in Nashville
StrawweightOther
April 23, 2017
Taylor defeated Jessica Penne via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night 108 in Nashville on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Taylor used her speed to disorient Penne, darting in and out while landing solid head shots. While Penne was able to do some good work in the clinch, it was clear that the 27-year-old landed the harder shots, and was the busier fighter overall. Taylor's combination of speed and power makes her a tough opponent for the division, but her small stature (5-feet even) will likely make it difficult for her to notch convincing wins in the UFC. She moves to 9-2 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.
Wins split decision against Seo Hee Ham
StrawweightOther
November 26, 2016
Taylor defeated Seohee Ham via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.
ANALYSIS
For the first two rounds, Taylor circled on the outside and landed very few punches. Ham was coming forward and getting the better of the striking exchanges. The trend continued into the third round. However, Ham caught an eye poke from Taylor. The referee did not see the poke and did not stop the action. Taylor used the opportunity to land several hard hooks, which were her best strikes of the fight. The judges thought she did enough to win, but this was not the most impressive performance.
Drops decision to Maryna Moroz
StrawweightOther
August 7, 2016
Taylor was defeated by Maryna Moroz via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night 92 on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
ANALYSIS
This fight was nothing to write home about, as the two fighters managed to land just over 20 significant strikes combined over the 15-minute duration. Taylor worked in a late takedown, and even got one judge to see it her way, but Moroz was definitely the busier fighter. Neither fighter did much in this one to show UFC brass they should be considered for anything more than early prelims.
