Schumacher is said to be "showing small signs of progress" in his recovery from a serious brain trauma as the seven-time Formula 1 world champion continues to be treated for injuries sustained in a skiing accident last December, the Independent reports.

Schumacher's doctors have started trying to wake up the former Formula Champion from the medically induced coma he's been in since a skiing accident last month, his manager said Thursday, ESPN.com reports.

Schumacher remains in stable condition following a skiing accident that left the Formula One great with severe head injuries and in a coma since Dec. 29, USA Today reports.

Doctors treating Schumacher say his clinical state "is considered as stable" but that he remains in a "critical" condition, ESPN F1 reports.

Schumacher remains in a critical but stable condition, with his management asking the media not to speculate about his condition. Schumacher spent a sixth night in a coma following his 45th birthday on Friday and his condition has not changed on Saturday, ESPN F1 reports.
