McGill Motorsports, with driver Sherman, announced that Big Lots, the nation’s largest broadline closeout retailer, has signed on to become the primary sponsor of the No. 36 Chevy for the 2007 Busch Series season, PMI PR reports.
ANALYSIS
McGill Motorsports now has their big, primary sponsor for 2007. It's up to Sherman to race the car to respectability. Sherman has never competed in a full Busch Series schedule and has only one career top-10 finish in 29 starts in the series.

Sherman's first lap around the Nextel Cup circuit has been a bumpy ride. Sherman said that he has left BAM Racing's Nextel Cup team to form his own team, Sherman Racing. Sherman's team will spend the rest of the 2006 season on the ARCA RE/MAX Series circuit, with plans to try to qualify for Nextel Cup races July 9 in Chicago and November 12 near Phoenix, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Brett Sherman: Leaves BAM Racing

Supposedly Sherman has left the BAM Racing team after testing the first session at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Tuesday, jayski.com reports. No word on his plans, if Serta will stay as a sponsor, but this week the No. 49 Dodge has Fire Dex as the sponsor of the car and Mike Wallace will race at Richmond.

Sherman and the BAM Racing team are hoping that history will repeat itself this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway for the Subway Fresh 500.
