2024 Fantasy Outlook
Rodgers’ first year in New York lasted 3 minutes, 45 seconds before an Achilles' tear in the opener sidelined him for the season. Remarkably, he was activated off injured reserve and returned to practice the final three weeks of the season. He said in February he still couldn’t sprint at full speed, but he’s expected to be fully recovered come training camp. Achilles injuries are notoriously difficult to overcome, though, and a setback wouldn’t be surprising, especially at 40 years old. Rodgers isn’t the Jets’ only wild card. Free-agent WR Mike Williams is coming off an ACL injury and might not be ready for Week 1, and there’s no telling how the run-after-catch game of third-round pick Malachi Corley -- a 5-11, 215-pound slot WR with 4.56 speed -- will translate to the NFL. On the plus side, the Jets remade their offensive line this offseason, signing LT Tyron Smith and LG John Simpson, trading for RT Morgan Moses and drafting OT Olu Fashanu 11th overall. It (probably) can’t be worse than last year’s O-line that allowed 64 sacks (4th most). No. 1 wide receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall give Rodgers at least two reliable playmakers. With a little good fortune, Rodgers could jump into the top 15 of fantasy quarterbacks. Read Past Outlooks

Skipping minicamp
Rodgers (Achilles) is missing June minicamp for an unspecified event, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The absence technically is unexcused, though Rodgers informed the Jets well ahead of time. That means he can be fined by the team, which apparently is a price he's willing to pay to attend his event. Head coach Robert Saleh didn't seem bothered by the absence, perhaps because Rodgers was at a number of voluntary practices this spring. The 40-year-old quarterback seems to have avoided setbacks in his recovery from the torn Achilles' tendon he suffered last September and should be a full participant for the start of training camp in late July.

Saleh not concerned about absence
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday he is "on the exact same page" with Rodgers regarding the quarterback's unexcused absence from the team's mandatory minicamp, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Saleh unsurprisingly downplayed Rodgers' absence, stating that there's no issue between him and the future Hall of Famer, or between Rodgers and his teammates for that matter. Rodgers was a consistent participant in the offseason program from April until early June, and he'd also let Saleh know he wouldn't be able to attend the just-completed minicamp because of a previous commitment.

The Rodgers era in Green Bay is over, but the QB is still wearing green. The Jets, who’ve searched for a Super Bowl-caliber QB since Joe Namath, traded a bevy of picks for the 39-year-old. The question is just how much Rodgers has left. Last year, he finished QB13 in fantasy, the first time in his career outside the top 10 in a full season. He posted a full-season career low in passing yards as his 6.8 YPA ranked 23rd. More alarming, his 12 interceptions were one shy of the total from his previous three seasons combined and the most he'd thrown since 13 as a first-year starter in 2008. Part of his problem was a lack of playmakers. Rodgers had the second-highest dropped pass percentage (7.4), and while his on-target percentage (51.3) on attempts of 20-plus yards ranked ninth, his completion percentage (33.8) ranked 22nd. It could be a problem again. In New York he has Garrett Wilson, who had 1,103 receiving yards as a rookie last year, and not much else. The No. 2 WR is his former Packers teammate Allen Lazard, whose efficiency slumped considerably with a big increase in volume last year. The speed demon is Mecole Hardman, who never broke out in four seasons with Patrick Mahomes before signing with the Jets this March. Rodgers doesn't do much with his feet at this point, and he won't rank among the league leaders in pass attempts unless the Jets' big-time investments in their defense and running game go horribly wrong. Stabilizing the Jets in real life won't necessarily mean a reprisal of the big numbers from his better Green Bay years.
