Closer Watch
Astros – The latest Astro you've never heard of to close a game, rookie lefthander Kevin Chapman got the last two outs (via a double play) Sunday against the Angels for his first career save. Chapman was bailing out Jordan Lyles, who was otherwise set to collect a save of the three-inning variety. The 25-yeaar-old was a mixed bag in Triple-A this year, pitching to a 3.20 ERA with 61 strikeouts in 50.2 innings, but also a whopping 36 walks, leading to a hideous 1.54 WHIP. The smart money here is still probably with Chia-Jen Lo or (to a lesser degree) Josh Fields, but unless you're truly desperate, this entire committee is best avoided.
Yankees – Mariano Rivera, coming off a weeklong hiatus following three consecutive blown saves, managed to nail one down Sunday night in Boston, but it wasn't all that pretty, as he allowed a hit and a walk while failing to strike anyone out. That outing certainly won't go far to soothe the fears of Mo's owners, and David Robertson's availability should be an object of keen interest in almost all formats in case Rivera's struggles continue.

Recommended Pickup
Dillon Gee, SP, NYM – Early on this year, you wouldn't have wanted Gee anywhere near your fantasy team. He owned a 6.34 ERA on May 25 and was at risk of being bounced from the Mets' rotation upon the arrival of Zack Wheeler. But the light went on for Gee in his final start of May, a 12-strikeout floor-mopping in Yankee Stadium. Including Monday's 7.2 brilliant innings in Minnesota, Gee has now allowed just 26 earned runs in 103 innings – that's a 2.27 ERA – with a 77:22 K:BB over his last 15 starts, dating back to that evening in the Bronx. He's not a huge strikeout guy, which does put something of a damper on his value, but it's still hard to argue with those results.
I'll let the next Lineup Card tell you to pick up Bogaerts. But you already know to do that, don't you?
