RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2013

There was no outlook written for Matt Palmer.

2011

Palmer won 11 games for the Angels two seasons ago in somewhat of a utility pitcher role, but he picked up just one win last season and posted an ugly 17:20 K:BB ratio in 33.2 innings. Palmer was a late bloomer who did not come up with the organization, so he is by no means guaranteed a bullpen spot if last season's struggles continue.

2010

The Angels scored 46 runs in Palmer's first six starts, which is basically the entire reason he spent so much of the year in the majors, even getting into some early Rookie of the Year talk. MLB is a tough place for pitchers who barely strike out more batters than they walk, so Palmer isn't long for the league.
