2012
The outfield numbers game in Colorado led the Rockies to non-tender Garner in December and he signed a minor league deal with the Yankees. Unfortunately, he was old for his level at Double-A when he hit .288/.342/.492 in 2009 and the interest in him will likely be as organizational depth with an opportunity to carve out a bench role at some point. Now 27, Garner will also have to prove that his inflated numbers at Colorado Springs over the last two seasons weren't simply the byproduct of an extremely hitter-friendly environment.
