2012
Head joined Detroit as a non-roster invitee for spring training. The 29-year-old outfielder had an impressive 2011 campaign with Triple-A Columbus, hitting .284 with 24 homers in 422 at-bats. His plate discipline is still lacking, though, as he struck out 99 times while earning just 25 free passes. Head will likely spend most of the 2012 season in Triple-A Toledo.
