RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2013

There was no outlook written for Jeff Gray.

2012

Gray may get a shot in the bullpen as the Twins struggled with their relief corps last season, but his 23:21 K:BB ratio in 48.2 innings last season was a problem. He did have a good groundball rate, but he looks like a long-shot to win a prominent role.

2010

Gray could tell you all about the best stops between Sacramento and Oakland, as he was sent to and from the majors four times during the course of the season. He was effective in the minors, and decent in the majors, so the Cubs were willing to take a chance on him when they traded Jake Fox to the A's in December. Gray will vie for a middle-relief job with Chicago during spring training.

2009

Gray made a few token appearances out of the A's bullpen in 2008, but doesn't figure to have much of a major league career beyond that. A few years from now, his neighbors will be saying "Old relievers don't die, they just fade like Gray."
