2011
Reckling was arguably the Angels' top starting pitching prospect heading into last season, but he likely will slip in the rankings a bit after posting a combined 7-13 record, 6.42 ERA and 108:85 K:BB ratio in 148.2 innings between Double-A and Triple-A. Reckling throws three pitches, including a devastating curveball, but he will have to do a better job keeping the ball in the strike zone and runners off the basepaths before he is considered for a spot in the Angels' rotation.
2010
Reckling is a polished prospect that has moved quickly by having two more good secondary pitches than most pitchers his age have. The lack of a big fastball limits his upside and could slow his progress to the majors, and his walk rate is a significant concern right now.
