Brewers assistant GM Gord Ash said Wednesday that Heckathorn is now viewed as a reliever and he will pitch in that role in the Arizona Fall League, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

There was no outlook written for Kyle Heckathorn.
2011
Heckathorn pitched well over two levels during his first full season of pro ball. He had a 2.96 ERA in 85 innings for Low-A Wisconsin and then a 3.00 ERA in 39 innings for High-A Brevard County. While he's a big pitcher, he's more of a groundball pitcher than a strikeout pitcher, allowing just three home runs in 124 minor league innings. The Brewers may give him a look at Double-A this season with an eye towards letting him compete for a major league spot in 2012.
