Casanova did hit six home runs in just 89 plate appearances for the Rays, but he only got that much playing time because of injuries to other catchers. While Casanova's bat showed some pop, he's a sub-par (at best) defensive catcher. There's no guarantee he'll start 2008 on a major league roster.

What does Einar Diaz do to deserve a four-year deal that Casanova can't do? Casanova could be useful for a fantasy team if he ever found an organization that gave him regular playing time, but his window of opportunity in getting that playing time is rapidly closing.
